Uff... what a work.
And: no, I did not get lazy, I wanted he books to turn into abstract shapes. The construction was quite a thing, in some way more difficult than the dragon's anatomy, but this took me more time, because dragons are not the kind of subject I am used to draw.

This one was inspired by a fairy tale, which might not be very well known, but which I like a lot as a book-addicted. It is the story of the last dragon, that guards a secret library, hidden in an old cave. Every man who comes to kill him is givn one special book which makes him see his own weakness.
Therfore, because theknights get concious of their own death, the old dragon i not killed by them. But once, when the cave is emtied and there is no book left, the dragon knows, he alos will have to die....

I hink its a story that shall warn us: if knowledge dies, we will too. But that's my interpretation.

Anyhow, it is quite a large picture, so I had to take a photo, therefore the quality is not as good as i want it to be.
Still I am unsure about the dragon's body and if the abstraction of the books ist not too rough. I think I did uite well wit the perspective and the details.

No, I don't think so... maybe I'll try with PS, but not with any traditional media... I'd be too afraid to destroy it

I love the detail and the concept of this piece. although I think you can employ some darker colours in here because it does look quite faded.

If you're going to get all kissy, at least have the decency to get into a broom closet first.

You are absolutly right. I am afraid that I was simply too lazy too add even darker shades... :blushes:

....no-one noticed! :noes:

Uff... yeah, the details made me go a little dizzy. But it was my fault: I decided on a darker tune quite late, so I had to draw over all the books again <<

This is very lovely :) I love the different perspectives - how some books are further away than others. I also like how the edges are faded - clear in the middle but fuzzy as you go out.

Thanks a lot. Normally, I am lazy concerning perspective, but this tme I had to work with it, because otherwise, the picture woud have been boring. So I experimented a lot with different possibilities and I m very glad that this work was woth it =D
